  6. Thanks for the tip.. I do have one question, our temp is suppose to go down in the 40's tonight will it be ok to leave outside or should I bring it inside for the night? Shawn that would be a treat... Did you take any pictures you could share???

  8. Obregon you growing your inside or outside?
  9. Of all the places you would expect to find a CP here in the states the last place to ever cross my mind would've been in a hardware store, but look what I found today. They have a little garden section and this was hanging up outside. There was no way I could leave the store without taking it home. The guy running the garden shop told me to put outside where it could get some morning sun and shade from midday on, so now it has a new home. Just hope I can keep it happy.
  10. I was thinking there was at least two, but three would be great. I was planning on trying to divide it next year
  11. This will be my first flowering VFT and I'm going to let it do what it does in nature. Thought I'd share the pictures. Ok, my wife is asking me to let it flower.
  12. Yes they did and I was pretty impressed with what we got to see. I'm also under the impression they need a lot of sun, but from the information I got it seems they have been growing them in that area for a few years. They get around five hours of sun a day. I still believe plants have ways to adapt to conditions less then optimal and still live, maybe not to there full potential but they live. I plan to head back around the middle of summer and see how they are doing
  13. Sheila I just went out and replanted it my mini-bog I looked it over really well and to be honest I can't find a rhizome, unless it just that tiny and not that well developed, it appears that the new growth is coming from a mass of roots but nothing close to resembling a rhizome.
  14. What does it take to get these to grow large pitchers?? Is it age. The plant is doing really well after a repot so I'm very happy with that, I'm just wondering how to get the big fat almost red pitchers that I have seen around the forum. I currently grow it outside in full sun where the temps are running about 80 deg during the day and 50 degs at night. Humidity is running around 70 at night to 20 during the day
  15. Thanks for sharing I have one that should be here in a few days, I know what to look forward to now
  16. Wow Pete your looks good also.... Very well stocked.
  17. Well here's mine. Yep, it's mobile so when winter comes I can easily move it into the garage. It makes me laugh when I see in the photo. I have not stocked it yet but that will be changing in a few days.
  18. Will a terracotta pot turn with the open end above the peat be a sufficient method of watering and also monitoring the water level of a small bog?? I'm currently setting up a small bog about 3ft X 3ft but not sure of the best way to go about watering any suggestions would be helpful.
  19. very nice.. Thank you for sharing
  20. Yours neps look very happy. Thanks for sharing
  21. Looks like it was a lot of fun. Thanks for sharing your adventure
  22. Wow what a time we had, wanted to share some picture of my first ever bog garden visit. My wife is now hooked after seeing how CP's bloom. Hope you enjoy them... Chris These were growing in a full sun bog garden. Pictures are not the best due to cloud cover and rain. Actually it's my picture taking skills. These are the ones that were a surprise, we were not expecting to see these in the main zoo area, while taking a break next to a stream my wife said look a here at all the vft's. They were everywhere. What also grab my attention was the fact they were growing in an area that would get a few hours of sun a day and after that due to tree cover would be all shade. I guess these plants can adapt to almost any growing conditions.
  23. I was about to say the same thing, A tomato with blossom end rot. Great pictures
