  1. I have never found anything better than pure peat for vft and Sarracenia. Adding sand and/or perlite did not help.

  3. All grow better with extra humidity, and the Sarracenia and the vft appreciate a Winter break. But...where are you from?
  4. I confirm. Forget the tubes that provide less than 70 lumens/Watt otherwise you'll need too many tubes If your Heliamphoras flower...the light is right!
  5. I would go for a RO unit. No minerals, no contaminants. Also useful for other applications.

  11. Hi Luca, This is a reccuring topic and a legend...there is no reason for a commercial laboratory to use mutagenic substances just to propagate Nepenthes. Kind regards, Fabrice
  12. Copper sulfate kills algae, but can be toxic to plants and organisms. There should be a concentration that limits algae growth without being toxic to benefic organisms...

  14. I keep the lowlanders standing in water, but only in the beginning or for small plants, and after hardening I water them once a week or when the soil is dry.
  15. I would say Nepenthes rajah and ventricosa x lowii...but I will probably change my mind in 2 minutes :)

  20. I have never had any trouble growing this species. I use a peaty soil, low level light and temp around 23°c.
