  1. Cause I usually water with destilled, but now I don't have time to buy some destilled, or I forget, so every 3rd week or so I water with tap water:( That shouldn't be too bad?
  2. I think I read somewhere that pings can be watered with water that has more mineral content, not just destilled...is that true?
  3. Croatian wikipedia says these plant live in Croatia- Aldrovanda vesiculosa L. Drosera anglica Huds, Drosera intermedia Hayne, Drosera rotundifolia L. Pinguicula vulgaris L. Utricularia minor L. , Utricularia vulgaris L. ,Utricularia neglecta L. Pozdrav i sretno;)
  4. How often do utricularia bloom. (if it depends on the species- sandersonii).
  5. The ping soil should be less damp when I water it than other CPs soil (that always stand in water)?
  6. I got these pings as a gift and they are my first mexicans so I was wondering how to water mex pings (overhead or tray- I read both, but what is better?) and should I start watering them. Here's how they look like: I think this one should be watered- http://img340.imageshack.us/my.php?image=picture038hw7.jpg I think this one is starting to grow it's summer foliage so also should be watered- http://img96.imageshack.us/my.php?image=picture040qh4.jpg This one is still in winter growth and should be kept dry- http://img213.imageshack.us/my.php?image=picture041vz1.jpg Is this right?
  7. The gravel is of the right size or is it a tad too big?
  8. I was wondering will this substrate for mex pings work. 25% lava rock, 35-40% small gravel, and the rest is peat. I tried to see how it lets water pass through, I top watered and it's really (missing a word) non-compact. This is how it looks: Maybe I should change ratio of ingredients? What do you think?
  9. I love it how the moss connects. It looks almost as if you got a moss carpet:)
  10. Also, an intresting observation. You have 2x28W lights, lets say 30cm from the plants. And ppl on this board suggest AT LEAST 2x36W A FEW cm's from the plants. And your plants still look gr8. How's that?
  11. And how do you water them? Do you let the soil dry out a little between waterings, do you water after there is no water in the tray or do you have water always in the tray?
  12. The conditions stayed the same, they were growing fine before... The only problem I could think of is the fact that I transplanted them, but that was 2 weeks ago...
  13. My scorpioides seedlings (2 of them, each has 3 leaves) are not good. They pulled their tentacles in, like they caught something but they didn't. What could be the reason.
  14. Yes, I am talking about plant growth specrtum lights ( for instance sylvania gro-lux 18W). The droseras are capensis, aliciae... beginner's I would like to grow mex pings and a few pygmy sundews. Would it work? (I am afraid the pings would grow but not the pygmys)
  15. And what if I said that my friends friend put his droseras under 18W FL tube and in one day they became red?
