  7. I've ordered a VFT Akai Ryu from HC Carnivorous Plants online shop. Chuffed. Now what?? Any more suggestions?

  9. Hi, I am quite new to cp growing and decided to focus on vft. I am building up a collection. Could you tell me, which vft should definitely be in my collection? Thanks.

  11. Beautiful plants thanks for sharing pics
  12. Thanks Alexis, as if that isn't bad enough, I had a look last night after dark, there were slugs : - (
  13. Eek! Is it safe to use Bug Clear Ultra on them? Honestly Alexis, both myself and my house mate, had a look and didn't see any, maybe we should both have gone to Specsavers lol
  14. After a careful examination of Sarrs, no aphids were found. So don't know why they are looking like they are, will put it down to the weather.
  15. Thanks Alexis, I will be on to that tomorrow.
  16. I would just like to thank Pirks for meeting up with me and for the lovely Sarracina Psittacina. I am very grateful, so thank you so much.
  17. P.cyclocesta is a beauty, I can understand why it is one of your favourites Gaz. Mine hasnt flowered yet, hopefully I will get it to flower, my 2 other pings have flowered.
  18. Thanks Gaz, sorry to hear yours died, I'm actually surprised that mine is doing well. My pings are moctezumae x gigantea (the one next to Nep), moctezumae x gypsicola and Cyclosecta.
  19. Hi Pirks, Thanks for that, yeah we might just have to put up with it ☹ My Sarracenia are: Juthatip Soper, flava copper top, flava red pitcher - North Carolina, flava rubricorpa - Liberty county N Florida, flava rubella, and 2 purpurea vinosa. I don't have Psittacina.
  20. Hi Gaz, Here are the rest of my CPs my pinguicula and Nepenthes Ventrata. They are growing on my sunny SW facing shower room window sill. They are doing really well. I am feeding them with freeze dried blood worm.
  21. Hi Gaz, Climate is very wet, NW England, very mild last winter. Watering is by rain, plus rain water from water butt. Am looking towards investing in greenhouse or similar for Winter.
  22. Hi Gaz, thank you, here are pics of some of my sarracenia. They are planted outside in large planters, in a mix of 50/50 peat and perlite. Whilst they look ok, as soon as the pitchers get to a decent height they fall over ☹ What am I doing wrong.
  23. Thanks Gaz, I have now acquired additions, a B52 and a Bear Trap. I will try to remember to post pics of them. Good advice about taking pics, to see progress or not as you say.
  24. Well here they are, a bit late, but non the less I did promise Gaz to post final set up. The first pic is grow table filled with a mix of 50/50 peat and perlite. I planted drosera and a few small VFT straight into the medium. The second pic is the other grow table, containing my VFTs, which are grown in individual pots of a mix of peat, perlite and horticultural sand.
  25. Hi Gaz, The good news is that the grow table and lid arrived today, the bad news, its pouring with rain. You have given me something to think about re water levels.Hopefully I will get time at the weekend, to sort something out. I will of course post some pics once I have sorted it.
