  1. Thanks for all the help and comments, I was going to give up on it, but after reading your replies I will persevere!
  2. The media has no added nutrients and its washed and heat treated cocopeat with natural rooting hormones, with high percentage of perlite.
  3. Thanks for the ge advice, i will do that, il update when/if things change! And no, it hasnt been exposed to cold temps at all, it was out when it was hot earlier summer but i always took it in at night and since then its been on my windowsill with the other carnivorous and succulents/cacti. Esther
  4. Hello everyone, my drosera was growing abundantly this summer, in gact it was looking like it needed splitting and re potting. Which i did, back in August. It was fine at the beginning, however tge last month its got worse, hardly any stickiness if at all and its not growing any more. Have i killed it? I was told tgey are very forgiving but this is my first drosera (my partner bought it me instead of a bunch of flowers when i gave birth!) Its always been on south facing windowsill, only ever has rain water to sit in, and was repotted using a carnivorous plant mix. Esther
  5. Ah ha! Im with you now, thank you, I will do that!
  6. Hi, sorry to be ignorant, but could you confirm what you mean by stick?
  7. When I got this plant in spring this year it had two pitchers, they were pale green and about an inch if that, now after hanging from my tree in my garden, it's grown new ones and slightly different in size and colour! I have started bringing it in at night now. I'm so chuffed how it's changed, especially as it was my first pitcher.
  8. Hi, yes the cactus is doing fine, no further markings. I did wonder if the succulent is being eaten, strange thing is though it's indoor plant, on my kitchen windowsill, BUT I do put all my plants out when it's warm sunny weather and at one point let then out over night few weeks ago when we had heat wave for few days so something might have had a go at it then. I'll try some insecticide. Thanks
  9. Hello everyone, I know this thread has had no replies yet, but could ANYONE help with this? The succulent has still got little brown marks on the inner leaves and tiny black specs, but the black specs don't move and don't have legs or anything. Any suggestions?
  10. Thank you Argo88, you have been very helpful and informative .
  11. Ok, and just slow down the watering, how often do you think I should water it over the winter?
  12. Hi everyone, I bought this plant in early spring, it's pitchers (only 2) were green and about an inch long at the most, I hung it out in my tree in the front North facing garden. Since then it's grown lovely red big pitchers. I am wondering do I put it into dormation for the winter like I do my dionaea and sarracenia (ladies in waiting hybrid) or doesn't it need it, can I just bring it indoors?
  13. Thank you so much, sorry for the late reply!
  14. Hello everyone, sorry for the long post, but I would be grateful for some help regarding two of my plants. I have attached pictures of them both along with a close up of the problems. I've never had any issues with my succulents and cacti but this has happened the last few weeks. Also it would be great if someone can ID these for me as I'm very 'green' when it comes to cacti, so I apologize for being ignorant by not naming both plants. As you can see the succulent has browning and some holes in the new leaves, and the cactus has recently got a whiteish hard growth on the stems. Any help and advice will be appreciated, thank you. Esther.
  15. Hi everyone, I have a drosera,it's in the Same pot as what I bought it in last May. I re potted a couple of my other carnivorous plants this spring but at the time my drosera didn't need it (it had been in dormancy for the winter), but now I think it really needs re potting, is it too late in the year to do it now? Any help/advice is appreciated. I have attached a pic I've just taken!
