Wind Problems
Steve Werzal Miller replied to ROBERT JOHNSON's topic in Greenhouses - Cultivation & Equipment
That’s something I’ve been trying to figure out too. I’ve been closing the vents and door if winds are about 30. Mine hasn’t got toughened glass though. I have installed a fan to help with air movement if the door is closed but I leave it running 24/7. I’d be interested to see what others say though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Decision has now been made and I’m using the new greenhouse to my advantage. The plan is to keep pinguicula in there so a bit of shaded sun will be quite useful. Then the one at the back will be heated. Foundations are going down today if the rain holds of for me. If not it’ll have to be next weekend. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I’m picking up another greenhouse tomorrow. I’ve already got one but I plan to heat one of them. Only problem is my garden is quite small, as you can see in the picture, but I’m sure I can make this work somehow. The picture was taken at 15:00 today so, as you can see, the area is lit fairly well. (The near side of the greenhouse is south facing by the way.) I was thinking of putting the new one next to the existing one and heating the one that is already there. I’m just a bit concerned that it will block too much light. Joining them isn’t really an option as the old greenhouse has angled sides and the new one has verticals sides. Other option is to turn the existing one but that’s a lot of work. Just wondering what everyone else would do? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Or beer traps. Just a small amount of beer in a plastic cup. Slugs like beer but they get drunk quickly and can't get out. Then they drown. Got to keep on top of slugs. There can be thousands in your garden at any given time and they can devour a plant over night. I woke up one morning after it had rained and all my lettuces had gone [emoji24] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Steve Werzal Miller replied to bigphil1984's topic in General Carnivorous Plant Discussion
Awesome. I got lucky when I started and met a couple very knowledgable people. They know pretty much everything about carnivorous plants. I don't like to hastle them too much though so I ask people on here too. Everyone is really helpful. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

I'm planning to divide mine next week. I'll be using Irish peat moss and perlite. I'm quite new to this so I'm giving you information I was given only a few hours ago. I may translate slightly wrong but I'm sure someone will correct me if I do. You can take the new runners out but cut them about midway down, making sure you have roots. Plant them in 2:1 peat and perlite. Keep well watered, out of direct sun. It looks ready to re pot to me but someone may advise better. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Mine are doing the same. Not quite as bad but on the way. But I do have loads more growing in the pot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Well, if I have to subscribe to photo bucket in order to view pictures then I'll make do without viewing them. People share plenty of pictures on here so I won't be giving photobucket a penny of my money... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hi, how come I can't view some pictures? It shows a padlock image and says I don't have permission to view images. This isn't on all images, just some. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

This popped up in my feed at the right time. I'm getting my greenhouse on Sunday. (Got to dismantle and move it first) the base was in my garden already so that's one less job for me. Just got to clear all the rubbish away first. I'm gonna be bolting it down and cement it too. Then I'm planning to build a horse shoe shaped area next to it for purpurea Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It is very addicting. I'm only a couple months in and my current pot count is at 33. I can't buy any more now until I get my greenhouse on Sunday. Unless I buy some that will live outside in Wales....... now there's a thought [emoji2] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
