  2. Cultivars aren't part of plant taxonomy, the ICNCP describes what a cultivar is and isnt rather than the ICBN which describes taxonomic definitions. Cultivar registration is strongly encouraged and anything not registered as such should probably be regarded as a commercial marketing name, which doesn't need registering.

  3. It's not temperatures that are important, although they must be frost free, it's humidity and air movement you need to pay attention to. I have grown R. gorgonias many times from seed and find they will die very quickly around October every year if left in the greenhouse due to high humidity and lack of air movement. I have to bring all plants into the house in autumn and keep on a sunny windowsill if I want to keep them alive.
