As Darlingtonia don't need much medium depth they're still in seed trays.

Any suggestions what to do? I'm inclined to leave them alone till they're like small plants?

   I am new to the forum and I am looking for some help about Darlingtonia.

I recently bought my first plant for this species. It arrived in a very good shape, and I had it for some time on the windowsill.

Since in Italy now is very hot, I recently transferred it in my new terrarium, where I keep roughly 11 hour of light.
Temperature in the house is almost constant around 25-26°C (I do not have air conditioning), but I spray the plant 3 times a day. I also add ice in its water pool two times a day.

Nonetheless, the plant situation is the one you can see in the attached photo. The center of the plant seem rot, and I already cut some of the traps, which were almost completely dead.

I do not get what I am doing wrong. Is there any hope for the plant? Do you have some help or suggestions?

it's my first year with darlings

I had 1 flower this year, but now that plant isn't developing a new bud for next season
I thought that the flower buds will form at the end of the season or is it still to early to see fresh flower buds?

I have a nice batch of Darlingtonia seedlings that germinated this spring. Will they be ok in my unheated greenhouse in the south of England over the winter?

And my two pots of Darlingtonia have died!  Everything else is flourishing.  Was it just too hot for them.  Max temperature got to about 38C

A few weeks ago I noticed some sort of infestation on it. I don't know what they were, small translucent bugs with large dark sack-like sections at the end which were obviously sucking juices from the plant. I manually removed them and didn't see any more, a week or so later I noticed tons of them again so removed them and gave the plant a spray of Provado. The pitchers very quickly went pale and then brown, losing all their rigidity. Most of the plant is now brown, though a couple of growth points do look green and there are a few little new pitchers popping up here and there.

I've attached a couple of pics - is there much chance of saving the plant? Any advice on what to do would really be appreciated.

What's happened here, please?

This pitcher was fine yesterday.  This morning it had bent over.

My Darlingtonia has recently produced new pitchers. However they don't seem to be producing the forked tongue.

As this is my first year with carnivorous plants I have never seen new pitchers from these Darlingtonia before.

So my question are these going to mature or is something horrible going on and my plant is damaged?

The sphagnum does seem to be getting too deep so I intend to cut it back and give the Darlingtonia more air.

I've got the plant growing in an orange plastic pot, which I've then put inside a light grey pot which I've filled with about 2 inches of water - picture below (apologies for the poor photgraphy skills). I'm hoping that this will provide a layer of protection for the roots to keep them cool.

This is then sat in a larger white pot which I've partially filled with perlite - this is mainly aesthetic as I had to trim down the smaller grey pot by hand, which is looking a little... rustic! This pot keeps it looking a little tidier from a distance; though the additional white layer should also provide further heat protection for the roots.

I've then got this sat on a South-West facing windowsill which gets several hours of indirect sunlight each day, as well as about six hours of direct sunlight later in the day. I'm hoping this will prove to be sufficient sunlight for this gorgeous plant.

Any thoughts on this? Any potential issues I've missed?

Also - before purchasing my darlingtonia I did a lot of reading up on these plants and something which really struck me was the wide range of advice I found regarding watering them. Whilst everything I've read has agreed on watering from the top to help flush the soil through and keep the top moist, I've read differing advice regarding the tray method. Some sources I've read say to keep the plant in several inches of water, whilst others say to avoid this to give the soil more of a chance to aerate. What methods do those of you more experienced than myself use for watering your darlingtonia plants?

Hi, I have a Darlingtonia plant that last year produced several smaller plants. At the moment they're all still in the same pot with the mother plant. When should I divide them? Now, end of summer, next year? Not done this before so don't want to mess up and kill them... Thanks for all your replies.
