Shropshire village of Shifnal 4 mile walk

I did this walk on the 4th May 2011. A 4 mile circular walk from Shifnal, a small market town in Shropshire, about 3 miles east of Telford. Once an important staging post on the road from London to Holyhead. The town still boasts many good quality hotels, inns and pubs. Charles Dickens stayed here and featured some of the town's buildings in 'The Old Curiosity Shop'. Little Nell is buried in the graveyard of Tong Church closeby. Shifnal widened its grand main street in the 13th century after the

There is plenty of wildlife to keep an eye out for including: hares, deer, foxes, red kite, buzzards and kestrels. Cotswolds village of Bledington 8 mile walk.

I did this walk on the 28th April 2011. An 8 mile walk in and around the Cotswolds village of Bledington. This walk also skirts the edges of Foscot, Bould and Foxholes. Whilst there are small sections of tarmac footpaths, the majority of the walk is set on rural public footpaths, bridleways and woodland. At times you will pass through fields containing livestock. The walk through Foxholes Nature Reserve is very nice in April and May when the Bluebells are out.

Rural Walking...

My other main hobby away from carnivorous plants is walking in the UK countryside. I try and get out at least once a week for a 5 or 6 mile walk. It's taken me to some brilliant places around Britain. I haven't really recorded where I've walked before so will use this Blog to show the places I get to. This may or may not be of interest to anyone but please read if you want to. I take the odd photo while out walking so will post a few here when I get something half decent.
