Fernando Rivadavia
Nice pics!!

Too bad I always have trouble opening your posts though, not sure why, but it's difficult to get all the pics to open. Maybe it has to do with the wesite where your pics are hosted.

Either way, I just wanted to say that U.parthenopipes and U.blanchettii "white" are basically the same thing. They represent extremes of variation of what may be a single very variable species or else 2 species that form hybrid swarms.

Also, both are from the Chapada Diamantina in the state of Bahia, and not Diamantina in the state of Minas Gerais (MG).

Congrats,
Fernando Rivadavia

I have the same problem, not all pictures load, but those I can see are very good. Thanks for sharing Avery.

I have the same problem both in Firefox and IE. Sometimes more photos load, sometimes fewer. I think the problem is that Avery's host fotop.net takes a long time to deliver the images and somewhere along the line the delivery times out. If I look at the page source and click on the url of the missing images, they load just fine.

Thanks for your kind compliments again ~

Thanks Fernando, your info is very useful ~ Yes, I do find their flowers very similar. I will have the labels and photos revised ~
I am not sure whether I have asked this question before ... When I was making a field trip last year in Hong Kong, I did found some utricularia that should be caerulea but they did show some variation. Do you think that could be complex hybrid of the two or that is just variation within the same species ?? Please help ~~

And this is the questionable one :

And another one that is very pale in colour which I don't know what its ID could be:

Sorry for the slow photo download speed .... Bob is right ~ I think this is problem of fotop.net ... It is more convenient to organize my photo album and with higher upload file size limit so that better quality photos can be uploaded without being compressed ~ However, it's less user friendly with low download speed for places other than Hong Kong ... What I can recommend is to click the missing links again or click "Show image" ... Thanks again for your patience downloading these photos ~

Sincerely, Avery

Nice new photo! Sorry I never answered your question above, but I don't know enough about your local Utrics to give an opinion.

Take care,
Fernando

Hi Avery,

As for unidentified local Utrics from Tuen Mun, I think that the first one falls into U. caerulea.
Second one looks like an aberrant albino form of U. caerulea to me;a pair of very short but not inconspicuous projections is very frequently observed in that species.
