Hi,

today i would like to show you pictures of the onliest species of Utricularia we found in southafrica - Utricularia bisquamata.

We have found this species in the range between the Gifberg and the Silvermine Nature Reserve on almost every place we visited. The plants are very different in size, form and colour. Some of them are so small, that it is very hard to take good pictures!

Nice pics! I also quite like the Drosera alba.
I am still trying to find some Utricularia here in Swaziland.
Is the habitat similar for most species?

They looks so good! Do they like sandy soils that are fairly dry?

Absolutely fantastic photos! I have never seen photos of this plant in situ before.

So many variations...

Hi Jim,

we only found U. bisquamata in very wet places and always in companion with Drosera (if i remember correctly). I don't think, this species likes dry places.
