Hello biggrin2.gif !

Here are some pictures of a quite rarely seen species.
I've got this superb specimen a few months ago (thanks Sonja! wink.gif ) as a 30 cm rosette with no pitchers .

This is a fantastic plant which develops 35 cm long (!) tendrils
with awesome pitchers.

The one pictured here is 17 cm long and i am already waiting for the second and the third 8) .

Thanks for watching.

François.

Hi Francois,
the picther will get darker more an more!
You'll love the colour after some days. The peristome wasn't that wide at mine, still looking gorgeous! :)
Hope to see more of them!

Thanks for the comments everyone biggrin2.gif .

Does someone else grow this species? I'd be interested to see shots of other clones for Nepenthes izumiae pictures are not that numerous on the net.
Mine originally comes from Wistuba.

Friendly,

François.

Here's a new pitcher on mine, again, not fully darkened yet though.

Cheers,

Thank you very much Tonyc wink.gif .

Your (beautiful) plant looks like mine. The pitcher is very reddish at the earlier stage of its development.

This species is famous though, for the big dark pitchers we can see on Clarke's Nepenthes of Sumatra... book and on Wistuba's site.

Does your plant keep this reddish colouration?

friendly,

François.

They get a lot darker, although the wings stay paler. Here's an older pitcher on the same plant:

Nice plants !
And as sayd before.. an other one for the wish list...
aristolochioide
tonyc, you might want to trim the sphagnum moss off the side a little so it doesn't choke your plant
tonyc
Hi all,

Sockhom, this plant is a seedling from BE which I've grown since June '04.

aristolochioide, while it's certainly true Sphagnum can swamp small Nep seedlings or tc plants I think this one's large enough to be safe now wink.gif

Cheers,
T.
