Hi guys,

Can anyone tell me something about 'Stylidium'
Is it carnivorous?

Bye for now,

No. :(

The common name comes from the structure and pollination mechanism of the flowers. The stamens and style are joined in a bent column which straightens and snaps when an insect touches it.

Thread moved to General Gardening & Plants forum.

I have heard rumours that there is the possibility that some of the tropical species from northern WA might be carnivorous. I believe many of the species from northern Australia have glandular stems and flowerscapes. Allen Lowrie was/is? studying some of them so I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Nice S. graminifolium too BTW George. :D

What about some photos of the other 'things' you saw up there?
