wwoehrle
Hello I cultivate hardy CPs, orchids and cacti. A special orchid substrate contains mycorrhizal fungi to enhance root growth. Has anyone ever tried to add mycorrhiza fungies into Sarracenia and Dionaea substrate? If so, how successful were you with it? Cheers Wolfgang Edited May 25, 2013 by wwoehrle
Alexis
People have used it with the aim of preventing botrytis infections in winter. I don't know if it works or whether it has an effect on root growth.
wwoehrle
Thanks, Alexis. I can see this idea. I am not sure if it works. I know from some professional growers they cut off all pitchers due that botrytis reason. It would be really interesting to hear more about the test results. KoShiatar
Is that anything like Trichoderma? If so, I am growing my carnivorous plants in a substrate containing it.
Marc S.
No, Trichoderma is not a mycorrhiza... ;-) But I think it's likely that this symbiosis is also present in carnivorous plants. Maybe to take part in the nutrient exchange of plants via these fungi!??
