Hi All,
Just after a bit of advice, I had a huge 'bigmouth' VFT that grew very well last year. I wintered it properly, and this year I waited, waited, then waited some more for a new plant - nothing...... Kept it wet, no growth appeared. I assumed it had rotten and almost wrote it off.
However, last week, I noticed two small clumps of very tiny traps. It made my day !
My question is how to feed them up in time for winter...... They are tiny, the biggest being 1/4". Do I hang on and see if they shoot up huge traps, increasing the size of their meal to 'fatten them up for winter' in hope they survive. Over winter them giving them more growing time and a short dormancy, or just leave 'em to it.....
Thanks in advance

I'm guessing that you might have kept the rhizome and roots too wet during dormancy, and most of the plant rotted. If there is tiny new growth, be sure not to keep it too wet; allow the growing medium to dry to just moist between thorough waterings.
If they were my plants, I would just let them grow as well as they can for now, and try to give them a comfortable (not too wet all the time) dormancy this year. Good luck.

Many thanks guys.
I assume they are from the original plant as I never let the plant flower last year. Do the plants send out 'feelers' underground to produce more plants ?

It doesnt send out runners like a strawberry but the rhizome divides forming two or more smaller bunched plants
