I dont know what is going on with my plants... this is the second time this happened, the last time was last year... If you look closely some pitchers, you will see some kind of burned blotches... Anyone knows what it is? could it be overfeeding? or maybe fungal problem??? if the fungus is causing this, can I use fungicide directly in my bog garden, or what?

Hi bogman

From the pictures it doesnt look like overfeeding the blotches are irregular and mostly in places you woulndnt expect from overfeeding, nor does it look fungal. Is it possible that they have been wet and then scorched in the sun? they look green and pale as if they are not getting much sun, and in that condition if exposed to strong sunlight when wet, scorching can occur.

if it is fungal infection I would use a systemic fungicide such as Bayer systhane fungus fighter, it may be worth dosing them with that to eliminate that from the possibilities

Are you growing this outdoors or under glass? It could be burning due to sunlight magnification in water drops that would effect the plant worse under glass as remember this plant is a fan of the cold. Greenhouses can get very hot.

the strange thing is that it is receiving at least 6 hours of full sunlight, and it is growing outside, in a bog garden... the same thing occured last year, in the similar part of the summer... The plants looked healthy just a few weeks ago, then something like this happened, and ruined everything... I dont exactly know why it is constantly green, and not becoming red... I also bought a plant that was red, and it changed its colour into green, as it grew... most other sarracenias Ive got with them, in a bog, have healthy color, and are growing quite well... droseras are thriving as well... I dont know... :S it is really irritating to have one of the easiest cps growing and performing the worst of them all! :S

it might be from sun and water... sometimes I misted them, along with sphagnum, even during full afternoon sun... I never realised they could get sunburns, although the sun is not what it used to be as well... I will water and mist them early or late, during the day, so I will see how the things will go on, from now on...

thanks for suggestions, everyone!
