Dear all,
On the dutch forum there was a question form 1 of our members. Last week he found birddroppings inside one of the traps and the trap was closed. the following days a few members replied that the trap wil rot, because Dionaea didn't like birddroppings.
But on the other hand there are a few Nepenthes plants taht like droppings, like N. lowii.
Will Dionaea digest birddroppings? Is there anyone who had happened this at his/her flytraps?
Take care,
Wouter

Is it sealed and digesting or just closed?

It was my post Wouter is referring to, the trap is sealed and is digesting.
I first saw the closed trap the 21th of july, so it happened either that day, or the day before that.

The trap is still sealed, but is starting to show some decay (a slight brown color around the edge)
could it be an 'overdose' of nutrients?

Perhaps the trap will die, perhaps it won't. I really wouldn't worry too much. If you lose a trap it's not the end of the world.
