Judging from my emails, it must be earwig season. Great.Earwigs are ominous looking insects that like damp, sheltered places. If that sounds like your garden, it's no wonder the earwigs are attracted to it. Earwigs look menacing, but they're actually considered beneficial insects. Although they do eat plants, they also eat things like aphids, snails and insect larvae. Of course if they are eating your corn or all the buds off your zinnias ans coneflowers, you're entitled to strike back.
