Hi just wondering if anyone knows if clear plant pots would be ok for c.p's particularly vft's. So it would be easier to tell when the peat is drying out. But with vtf's needing direct sunlight, with the pots being clear, would this burn the roots and also would it promote algae growth?  cheers.

Very simple ,look how plants grow in nature and try to do the same ,thats allways the best you can do,clear pots are meaby good for ephiphieten and plants that grow in trees whit roots exposed to the air,but i think not on long term for plants that naturally grow in the ground,
Cheers Will

Clear pots will certainly get algae.

Best method I've found for checking moisture is to put a wooden cane in the media, pull it out and see how wet it is.

I bought these in a garden centre about 3 months ago. I really only wanted the plants and intended to repot into something less "gimmicky" but as yet haven't got round to it .
Plants are fine, no algae problems but then there's not been a great deal of sun.
Only real issue is there's no drainage so i have to go tip them out after a heavy downpour.

Not sure what inspection routine OP desana has in mind,
if you want to view your pots quickly, statically, then this wont work but :-

If you intend to pick each up in turn to inspect then you could put each clear pot inside an opaque sleeve. Maybe a slightly larger regular pot.
Or an opaque sheet with loadsa holes cut in it to suspend the clear pots in a darkend enclosure below.
