Hi, was looking for something smaller than a greenhouse as i just dont have the space at the moment for a large greenhouse! And just wondered if this would be ok. Ive read somewhere that polycarbonate isn that good for vft's as it filters some of the uv. And vft's do better with full sunlight. If its not gonna be any good ill continue the search. As i want to get it right. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.....

I have most of my plants (including a few VFTs) in something very similar (just a little higher and with aluminium frame instead of wood) and they are ok. Just do not place it on the south facing wall. VFT and Sarras would make it, but if you are going to place some sundews and pings inside, they could get overheated. But it depends on the species - some will make it, some not - and your local conditions.
Good luck
Adam

Hi,

I have grown a lot of species in a greenhouse like you've postet it.
What are the minimum temperatures during winter in your city? If you have a connection of power supply you could use a small heater to increase the temperature to 5°C. Then you have best conditions to grow a lot of species beside Dionaea :-)
I never had problems with UV filtering.

Kind regards
Giovanni
