Been wondering what the ant is doing...making a short and erratic knock on the pitcher?

Hello,
I guess it is a Polyrhachis pruinosa drumming on the pitcher.
It's a typical behaviour of this species, even if I don't know why it occurs.
For other ant species, it's usually a way to warn their congeners, but, as you find P. pruinosa doing that when it's alone, I assume it isn't the same purpose
