Good afternoon all

This will come as no great announcement to those of you who have greenhouses, but to us bog boys and girls its a red letter day. I have had my firstsarracenia flowers open yesterday with more to follow (although I may not see them as I am going away for a week or two). despite having a relatively mild winter this year and summer appearing in March, the flowers are a full three to four weeks later than last year when we had a winter with minus 15C and more and a prolonged cold spell.

Has anyone else had the same effect or is it limited to my plants/area (midlands UK).

Cheers
Steve

I had my first flava flower open about five days ago although I've still a maxima that is only JUST coming out of dormancy (weird).  I also had my first pitcher open today, a Moorei.  There'll be Moorei flowers opening in a few days and a purpurea purpurea flower should be open tomorrow or the day after.  one of my D. rotundifolias have already flowered.

I've still got some Sarracenia's that are refusing to get out of bed including a Maxima of all things.
