Hi,
I know this topic was opened back in April but I think it would be a great idea to have an Irish Carnivorous Plant society. I think that more and more people are getting interested in keeping these plants. I myself started in April so I'm only new to it but I'm extremely interested.

You now have four members it's enogh to get it going others will follow once you get going . Can start off in someones home would keep costs down only need transport costs . I wish all the best at setting it up .

the Carnivorous Plant Society has 5 members base in Ireland.
One way to proceed would be to join the CPS and form an Irish Group. One or more of you could host an open day.
This would encourage new members and you would get the benefits of CPS membership which include:
2 full colour journals each year.
access to a large seed bank.
a new website
providion of support for CP research and conservation
access to a large CP related library
growing guides
15 to 20 open days
free admission to The Royal Botanical Gardens Kew (including a behind the scenes viewing of their CP collections, RHS Wisley and Chester Zoo (to view the national collection of nepenthes) on days organised by the society.
