I am just about to plant my bulbs out. I am thinking of going 100% leaf mould for a change.
Would that be suitable for them to grow in?

It can be variable depending on which species. I don't have Sauromatum but I have one Dracontium and 9 different Amorphophallus. Generally just leaf mould wouldn't have a good balance of nutrients. Mine are in a heavier soil with a lot of organic matter. The A. titanum have a courser medium with better drainage.

Hi everyone
I'v done very well using a mix of 50% JI no 3 and 50% multi purpose compost and then I mix in some perlite and sand until it looks about right!!
Question to all.... What the biggest anyones managed to grow a amorphophallus saurmatum (voodoo lily) to, Leaf size/hight and weight of bulb?
Thanks James

I'm using peat and perlite for all my Amorphophallus, much the same as I do for CPs
No experience with saurmatum, but I remember reading somewhere that A. titanum could grow over 6m tall and over 60kg for the tuber. I think A. gigas may be slightly taller, but not heavier.
