I have heard that Aldrovanda vesiculosa is still flourishing in a naturereserve near Nieuwkoop in The Netherlands. Its good to hear that this very rare and in the wild highly endangeroud plant has found a save haven there.

They are the central European green one and the red Hungarian one wich are found there. In most of the former areas in Europe Aldrovanda ones was found its now extinct. And probably this process of extinction will continu in the near futur.
Hoppefully I am wrong.

Well Aldrovanda even had reached the newspaper Leids Dagblad recently! Well the number of Aldrovanda is increasing also year by year! Its even stated that swimmers should not be affraid for it. Some people seem to think that Aldrovanda is a kind of Jaws hiding in the Dutch freshwater canals...

Well there is an error in that article. With the Aldrovanda included there are now 6 to be found nearcarnivorous plants in Nieuwkoop. There are 2 species of Drosera, 3 Utricularia and the Aldrovanda.
