Thank you very much Francois! About half of my collection has not bloomed for me yet since obtaining them, so this thread will probably be alive for a few years.

Thought I should share in this thread a photo of the strange flower of a Bulbophyllum wendlandianum which has just flowered to me.

Thanks for the wonderful photos Jonathan!  Mini orchids remind me of looking at insects under a dissecting scope-up close and personal, they look like aliens!

I think it is now proven there are aliens on this world! Not in the fauna but in the flora! LOL

Partly very bizarre but nice flowers! :good2:

Some really stunning plants/photos there. You can see where Promenaea stapelioides gets its name from. For growing with highland Nepenthes, a lot of Bulbophyllums should be good. It's the largest genus of orchids and many come from highland rainforest.

Hi Amphirion,

haha...that Maxillaria schunkeana looks like a miniature tortoise! With a very small head but huge front legs! :woot:

Scaphosepalum swertifolum still looks intriguing. And the Masdevallia is just lovely! Really, I love your miniature orchids! I wish I could grow more of them!

Cheers

Andreas

thanks very much Andreas, out of all the orchids in my collection, Maxillaria schunkeana is the only one the has black flowers, so it holds a special place in the collection. and you should grow more of them--the nicer specimens are much easier to find where you are in comparison to the States.
