Good evening,

I have another orchid to show you. Not a painted one this time but a real living plant!

I grow this orchid for three years now and this spring it´s the first time it sent out a flower from the biggest bulb. Its name is Pleione x Stromboli 'Fireball'. This hybrid is made of Pleione pleionoides and P. bulbocodioides.

First it had to take a shower to be cleaned from loads of pollen the wind blew in.

Some nice, red streaks in the depth of the gorge.

You see that orchids have far more than just one chocolate side!

The name "Stromboli Fireball" is aptly chosen, don´t you think so, too?

I consider to obtain a couple of more Pleione bulbils coming autumn/winter. I really love´em!

Cheers

Andreas

Wow this is really beautiful one! Congrats for the flower  :sun_bespectacled:

By he way the pollen flying everywhere for about three weaks is really annoying! All my outside pots with CPs look mouldy - even the plants are completly plastered with it! So I know what you are talking about

I've seen Pleione before, and not liked them particularly. This plant seems to have broken that rule! Well grown!
