I am new to this type of garden i want one that i can keep outdoors all year round i want in it D.rotundifolia & Darlingtonia californica i was thinking of buying a

Hi,
I use similar types of planter in my outside garden.

I use my usual mix of granulated peat mixed with perlite & sharp sand. And stand them in mainly large water trays such as these:

I will second flcatchers comments regarding the compost, adding that I find Darlingtonia works better in a more peat biased substrate and they do say to use white (sun reflective) pots and keep the roots cool on them (Darlingtonia), but if you have a container with sufficient mass or bury it to three quater depth, it shouldnt be a problem.
