It looks like there is a seller in the EU (Switzerland) listing rare Dionaea clones for sale in the US.  And this seller isn't providing any sort of paperwork that's required to ship plants internationally.  Even sterile cultures require a Phytosanitary Certifiate, but in vivo plants additionally require an import permit and CITES.

Here are the seller's auctions:

Individually:

http://cgi.ebay.com/...em=110674593459

http://cgi.ebay.com/...em=110676067531
http://cgi.ebay.com/...em=110676070604

In the seller's Trichterfalle auction they write:

Quote

The plant is sent in a letter it doesn't need paper export.

I have reported the items to eBay.  I'd ask that anyone that feels inclined to do so also report the items.

To report the items, go to the item page and find the "Report Item" link on the far right side of the page under the "Other Item Info" box.  Then I entered these selections from the drop down menus:
Reason for Report: "Prohibited (banned items)"
Detailed Reason: "Animals, Plants and Wildlife"
Additional Information: "Items containing parts of regulated, protected, or endangered species"

To report all of the items at once, enter all of the item numbers at once like this:
110674591053, 110674584244, 110674593459, 110674601083, 110676067531, 110676070604

In the Brief Description box (which is limited to 100 characters), I entered one of two phrases:
Venus fly trap is endangered; international shipment require Phyto Certificat, Import Permit & CITES
OR
Venus flytrap endangered species regulated internationally. CITES and Phyto required! Seller not pr

I hope that eBay actually pays attention to the reports.  I guess we'll see if the listings are taken down.

Can you report the seller, onstead of the sales, as that would stop it once and for all, at leas, i would for him!

people a guilible. If you use the correct words you can sell them at a higher price. In this case the seller has used the word 'rare, very rare' and even 'very very rare' even though they are not.

I like the way they state in the auction:

Expedition

I life in Swiss thus the plant can set between 10 and 20 days has to arrive at your home.

The plant is sent in a bubble letter

The plant is sent in a letter it doesn't need paper export.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So as its being put in a "letter" it doesnt need any export papers?

Ha Ha would be nice if it did work that way but no, otherwise we would have some very nice wild specimens being sent left right and center!

The reason they are fetching a higher price in this case i beleive is that some of the plants are Very rare to come by in the US,
hence why the people dont mind paying that much more.
