Here's a functional 2010 S. ×chelsonii pitcher, believe me, the flies in the pitcher are 2011 flies! (click on the picture.)

And here is my D. regia, potted into a large pot end of last season, can't wait to put it outside, which I believe will be soon. :woot:

What media did you use, how much extra volume did you allow, and did you take any root cuttings?

sorry sir, not root cuttings, but I surely could have! the mix is a pretty open one, perlite, dead sphagnum, peat, no idea how much, just fairly airy. I kept it inside all winter under growlights, it's doing really well, the pot always sits in water.

This goes right against the grain to say something in Amar's defence, of course...  :yes:

But it looks like a brown cricket to me (Acheta domesticus), which the Swiss Genius (bah!) probably bought from a pet shop.

However...  :D
If he loses enough of them around the flat, A. domesticus will live up to its Latin name and set up home there, driving him nuts with the singing all night...  :biggrin:

That'll teach him for growing D. regia better than me!  :yes:

Ahh...Acheta domestica!!! Was a little difficult to recognise for me...but yes, I have also fed them to my carnivores! But I didn´t stick them with their back onto sundew leaves! :nono: I threw them into pitchers...

Am really looking forward to the growing season, have got some really nice Sarra and VFT cultivars, lots of nice sticky plants, ohhh, this will be my best growing season ever!  :morning2:  :confused:  :suicide:

No poly-tunnel or hot-house/coldframe for me, so it takes a bit longer for my plants to awaken, but now they are...

Here's my Sarracenia 'Heavily Veined' (oreophila), I've counted five flowers!  :thumbsup:
