Watering/bog garden question

I'm sitting here with my new copy of 'The Savage Garden' having just read the section on the soil, water, light, etc,. requirements for VFTs. Under watering it says that vfts 'do not appreciate persistant water logged conditions, and do best with a lower water table.'

As I would like to put my vfts in a mini-bog garden, can anyone tell me how high or low the water table should be?

As long as the roots are not sitting in water, they should be fine. I would make the bog 30cm, or a foot deep and the water table will be away from the roots.
