Crikey, now I feel old :( I'm a whole 12 years ahead of you!! Thankfully most people say I dont look it, in fact I still get asked for ID buying booze :(

Looking at the photos of your wedding that you posted some time ago, I'm not surprised you get IDed  *wolf whistles all around*

You're the same age as my sister though, she lived in the same area you got married in at the same time

Better not let your husband see :nono:

Oh, the struggles of it all; I'm just a schoolboy who happily whistles on his way to school in the mornin', not a care in the world...

Well I'll take that one as a compliment  :(  Your sister lived in Bali?? Lucky her, its a lovely place.

Make the most of those years James, its nice not having too much responsibilty.....working, bills, mortgages bla bla will be along soon enough (have I depressed you yet?) - not so fun!! Though one good bit is having your own space, more room for cps :)

My husband is actually sat at the side of me.....though too busy playing Halo at the moment to see this

She did indeed live in Bali, for a few months. She is a diver, so she was really in her element. Before she moved on to New Zealand.

I'm ready to take all those dreadful sounding things on - just need to do the GCSEs and whatnot first. Although, yes, I will be able to expand with my CPs. Right now I am very limited indeed. Dad says 'no more plants!' but I just keep sneaking them in and I'm soon running out of room. I feel like one of those whiskey smugglers from the 19th century, only it's plants

And so very sorry for bringing this extremely off-topic - I shouldn't have started it

Whoops - I'm not helping Jimmy stay on the shining but narrow path of topic relevance, now am I?  :(

Well, to help you girls out, I volunteer to show a large amount of hairy leg to entice in the punters...?
I'll even wash it first...
Be careful that the zoo doesn't mistake it for one belonging to the chimps

Better lay low for a while..before one of the zoo employees sees this topic, and blows the whole thing off!

Hope they can handle the lot of us...

Good point!
I'll wear a paper bag over my head, with a cute baby giraffe drawn on it, and fluffy ears for a cunning disguise.
That way, I'll evade the zoo (and psychiatric) dartgun squads and  provide even more incentive to draw the babes in...  :flag_of_truce:

How could they resist now?

Hello, another female here :moderator:   :flag_of_truce:
I belong to the spanish carnivorous plant society, is it going to be free my entry too?
Thanks

Yes, full details to follow. However, there is likely to be an administrative fee for overseas cp societies as we will need to post out tickets. No cost to UK CPS as they would receive tickets in our normal postings, so would not be an added cost. Won't be much.

Excellent news and credit to the hard work that goes on behind the scenes. Am a bit worried about Chester though - I live in Hereford and we all think they are in breds up there! need to do finger counts.

On a serious note though - I have all the information for places to stay, access options etc ffor restaurants in Chester for any other wheelchair users who may want to go.

Dear all,

So far the EEE 2011 is looking very good, well done Tim and Dennis. As 1 of the founders of the EEE I hope I'll be able to be there too.

I must commit it was far from easy to choose which country/society will host the EEE 2011. The 2 Tsjechien CP-societies, Darwiniana and CCP both claim the EEE of 2011 after the split up in 2007. Very pitty.

After a little chat at Leiden, during the ICPS, last August, we decided to give the CPUK the EEE 2011. The Chairmen of the CPUK, Steve Cottel was also with this discussion. The night after the chat I e-mailed Phil Wilson the good news

Very curious about the show, like slide-shows, exhibition and perhaps a fieltrip?

Once agian, very good so far Tim and Dennis!

Take care,

Wouter Noordeloos

Mum says that if my brother's graduation from Uni isn't clashing, I can go :woot:

Now I've never met anyone who grows CPs before, so I want to see if you are all as mad as you appear to be :D

How abouts I bring along some sketches and do a bit of business

Good to hear from you Wouter. There will be a great exhibition, lectures and working out a filed trip + lots more. News to follow as soon as I can.

Best wishes

More barmy than you could possibly imagine, Jimmy boy!!  :wall3:
But, being older than you, we just don't care...
CPs are our passion, and I learn something new - and make a new friend - every trip.
A fascinating hobby all round.

See you there, or be very square, Jimmy!

(Please humour my attempt to be very hip and with-it, James;
I just don't know any better, as my teens like to remind me)

I'll save up all year for this - I will then have enough to buy some plants I really want...and yes, I will have to get the plants past my dad....who will have a watchful eye on how many I buy...maybe if I hide them up my shirt.

But it sounds like it will be amazing, and I can't wait.
