Rice could be fine companion plants for Aldrovanda! Nice to see that you don't have them in too deep water as well!  :)

after a long battle against the algae, it seems that i'm starting to win.
With the right companion plants, the amount of algae is now finally starting to decline. Where i first had to clean the aldrovanda every 3rd day (it was really that bad... they were totally entangled in algae after just 2 days). now i still have to clean them, but only after a week or 2. The parts that are dying off seem to be the point where the algae get a hold on the aldrovanda strands.
on the good side... my 6 strands (3 different locations) are now around 70 strands.

I don't know why, but maybe it's a biochemistry thing, but this 10 gallon fishtank, containing Aldrovanda, U gibba, bog muck, a couple token bog plnats, and bog water, in direct sun.... doesn't have algae.
