I've had sphagnum moss from these people before and highly recommend them: http://www.freshmoss.co.uk

Packs are usually available on ebay (the seller is called 6674fm). Last batch I had contained a great deal of red moss and it clumped up really quickly.

I couldn't find prices on their website. I found the supplier below a little while ago but have not ordered anything from them yet. Are the prices comparable?

The price I was quoted was per kilo which was not bad at all but its the P&P cost that made me sit up. Looking at your site it would depend on how may kilos are in a ltr.

Hi there,
I have just had an 80kg bag delivered from Dows in Scotland and it was really superb!!!
I might now ago as far as getting a whole pallet of live sphag from them and start growing it on myself.
I would certainly recommend them and would purchase from them again.

Thanks for the link, I just bought a pack of this as the Gardman stuff bought from a GC seems totally dead.

I am well impressed nice sized bag for what I will need for top dressing. Postage does seem a bit high but then for a fiver in total I have a bag of live healthy moss which should keep growing and last me a while.

A fiver is 1/2 of what I was quoted for postage, then the cost of the moss on top!!!

I had a look at the ebay seller mentioned and they have a bulk buy option.
Please could some one tell me if the moss would live and grow?
What will it need to stay healthy?

Thanks!

Just water. Lay it out in a shallow tray, keep wet and it will grow.

Growth will be slow in winter though.

It was a tad over a fiver at £2.30 for the moss and £3.20 postage £5.50 in total
maybe they're doing it as a loss leader?
