Yes but none of the seeds germinated yet. The mother royal red produced a few seeds but they may be not vital or maybe they're just selfed royal red seeds. Let's hope they will germinate and they're the real thing.

That's a great plant you've created-very well done. I sincerely hope your experiment with the Wacky traps is a success,I'm sure we'd all be absolutely enthralled to see the results .

Here are some updates of this bunch of seedlings.
there is a great variety of forms, some plants looks like typicals, other show a stable production of cupped traps, other plants show a very nice blueish-purple coloration.

The two clones shown below are my special favourites!




This one looks awesome.
The traps are of a nice dark purple color inside and outside, with green petiole




I'll get some second generation seeds next year!

Interesting that the common wisdom is that any two VFTs will produce 'typical' plants, yet interesting traits and dark colouration can be passed on.

Alexis, that's a bit of a myth. I think it came about because some of the more interesting traits are genetically recessive or the clones infertile. Colour, dentate teeth and rosetted or upright growth are readily expressed in seedlings but other traits like saw teeth and fused teeth, dont seem to come through. Cup Trap is a difficult plant to grow to flowing size, I've only managed it once and the seed didn't grow.
