alexa
I have just got hold of this plant and was wondering how I should grow it? At the moment the plant has a crown of about 4.5cm wide and is already potted up from the supplier. Would it be alright to put it in the (unheated) greenhouse now, or wait until it gets a bit warmer. If it should be kept indoors, would a warm windowsill be sufficient, or would it go better in the tank along with the Heliamphora. I take it as red that watering via the tray method is the right way. Any help would be great. To be honest I only brought it for the colour.... Regards Alex
Dieter
I use pretty much the method described by Eric (http://perso.club-internet.fr/epbb/pages/p..._cyclosecta.htm). I keep them currently at temperatures between 5 and 15 degrees Celsius and water them only when the substrate is completely dry. vic brown
I wouldn't put it into an unheated greenhouse yet, at least until there is no risk of frost. From your description, it sounds as though your plant is already in full carnivorous growth (mine are just starting to grow) and should be kept warm, an E or W- facing windowsill will suffice. Don't over-water it either, just stand in very shallow water and allow this to dry out for a few days between waterings, in winter keep dry and cool (my own plants are at a min. 8C). epbb
Here is P. cyclosecta in habitat, growing in island of vegetation or in cracks of rocks. There is no dripping water so do not over water it, even in growing period. Many pictures can be seen in the new postcard 11 of Fernando Rivadavia.
