hi i just recieved some tubers kindly sent to me from julian of A.konjac, i only really have experiance with A.titanum so i went looking for info, i read that konjac likes to be kept dry until growth emerges is this right?
i have potted them allready in a loamy mix with plenty of grit and sand for drainage, im geussing i should not water and keep allmost dry until i see growth?
i also have A.albus which i also assume requires the same dry dormancy until growth is seen? (potted that tuber too)
what about typhonium giganteum? same sort of culture? i.e dry until growth is seen? again i have allready potted my tuber in the same mix.
thanks
rob

correct, A.konjac can be kept bone dry and quite cold until growth, this can be very late, into July is not unusual when the shoots appear. feed them well.

ok it wont get any water until growth then!
yep, i allways feed my aroids with plenty of high potash to bulk up the tuber as they are incredibly greedy plants, they allways get repotted each year too.
i have another aroid that has the same growth pattern, that is comes into growht very late in the season, grows big old leaves then quickly dies down, leaves me with a big pot of tubers but ive not had any inflorescens yet, probably becuase ive not been feeding enough in previous years.
i think it could be one of those voodoo lillies but which one i dont know (venosum?)
