I have a few petiolaris complex drosera and tehy seem to be doing great, (kennealyii has now sent up a flower stalk) but when, how long, how deep, and where is thier dormancy? Is it optional? Does it even exist? Could I just use the search funciton? (No, I already tried) Thanks in advance, -Johnny

Just keep growing them... In their natural habitat, dormancy is a reaction to the extreme conditions of summer. In cultivation, plants may or may not go dormant for an indeterminate length of time.

Having great "beginner's luck" and then watching the colony seemingly die 2 years later, followed by what seemed to be a thriving paradoxa and ordensis, only to see them either go dormant or dead, how does one tell the difference between dormant and dead, other than waiting things out? Are dormant plants still green or do they really look dead?
