I also grow lotus here. Nelumbo komarovii for example. And I had it in flower here outside in good summers.

Aldrovanda should flower easely in areas with hot summers, like New York.

Same with Nelumbo, N. lutea is native their by the way. Well in New York state anyway. I grow it here in my polytunnel, with some other Nelumbo like N. komarovii and some cultivars. One of my favorite plants.

Summers in Holland however are usely crap...

But we can grow both Aldrovanda and Nelumbo outside here at least.
