Andy,

I suppose that as you're wanting a foreign book then photo's will be the main draw, the Japanese books are great photographically, you won't understand a dickie but they are stunning to look at, some of the French titles are good for this too, try L’univers des Plantes Carnivores, if you can find it, try abe or eBay. A lot of my books are all about the phtotgraphs, I don't think I ever read any of them, apart from Slack and D'Amato, as has been said above that's all you need. I'll have a look through and see if I can recommend some.

Alex.

I just found L’univers des Plantes Carnivores available in Argentina for over £100 inc postage. I think I'll give that a miss for now! :D

I've seen several Japanese books on ebay and often been tempted to buy, but they're all in £50-£70 range, which is a little out of my range at the moment, though I did consider asking for one of them for Christmas.

I'll keep my eyes peeled! Thanks Alex.

I guess it's a little like the Arx CITES book. It's an A4 paperback (62 pages) which detail the American pitcher plants and their subspecies. There are a few line drawings of each main species. Interesting, but not the most exciting book in my collection!
