Hello to all,
Does anybody know if Aldrovanda from the Okavango Delta, Botswana, is presently in cultivation (or was in the past)?
Best Wishes,

Hello Markus!
Thanks for the reply! It appears the Czechs sell this form. So now I have a different question: does anybody know who was responsible for the introduction of this form to cultivation? Does anybody have info on the ecology of Aldrovanda in the Okavango?
Best Wishes,
Fernando Rivadavia

Fernando,
You could try contacting the Biology department at the University of Botswana. When I was in Botswana (1989-1995) they had an extensive herbarium of local plants. Whether this includes aldrovanda I don't know, but it's worth a try.

Maybe Aldrovanda grows in those channels and pools made by Hippothamus and in this way survives the dry season in the Okavango.
