Sean Spence
Just a few photos of my fan-leaved tuberous Drosera in the greenhouse today. Hadn't tried out the new CPUK webspace so I thought I'd give it a go. Drosera stolonifera ssp. stolonifera "Harvey, WA" in flower. A nice robust light green coloured form. and its flowers. Drosera stolonifera ssp. porrecta. closeup. Drosera platypoda. Drosera ramellosa.

JanW
Great plants. I got most of those in seedling stage and now I know what I will see in 2-3 years! Jan
Sean Spence
Great plants. I got most of those in seedling stage and now I know what I will see in 2-3 years!Jan As do I Jan. I've been surprised how quickly the seedlings of D. platypoda have grown. There are in the middle of their second season (germinated in May last year) and are already over 1cm in diameter and look like they might even begin their upright habit. I think that by the end of next season they will be mature. My seedlings of D. stolonifera ssp. stolonifera from Harvey are growing almost as quickly- they are showing great variation in colour too. I've had fantastic success with all of the tuberous Drosera seed I've sown this season- a 100% success rate- every species sown has germinated and is growing well. Jonathan
Very nice. 'Robust' certainly is the word for that stolonifera.

AdamH
Absolutely amazing photos Sean, wow! I love the D. stolonifera ssp stolonifera flowers, they are beautiful. I agree Frank: !! I will definately be expanding my collection of tuberous Drosera soon... I currently only have D.auriculata and D.macrantha ssp planchonii (both grown by me from seed - should flower this year). gardenofeden
love the platypoda, probably my favourite tuberous. is it hard to grow?
Sean Spence
The D. platypoda is a very easy species to grow. Not temperamental at all and has the added bonus that is readily reproduces extra tubers each year. This form was obtained as a single tuber at the beginning of last year and is now 3 plants. The friend who I received the tuber from has a potful of them that multiplies each year.
JanW
I was suprised by the quick growth, too. Hope to have some nice difference between the invidual seed grown plants... the seeds from Phill Mann were great. What a shame he does not sale them anymore. Greg Allan
Great plants as usual. I'm about to try my hand with tuberous species (I have a few tubers waiting to sprout), and that gives me something to aspire to.
