CephFan
Hi Everyone, I have a couple of pots of seedlings this year from the CPS seedbank. How long should I leave these (traps now approx 6mm or 1/4") before I plant them out onto trays to put on some weight? These are some seeds from 'Australian Red' These are seeds from 'Jaws' These were originally germinated in my LED lit heated propagator and are now in the greenhouse. So my question is: How long should I leave these (traps now approx 6mm or 1/4") before I plant them out onto trays to put on some weight? Cheers, Steve (my first post from Linux - Yay!) ada
Anytime you want Steve they're yours. seriously, some would do it now. This would give them more room and a boost now while they are still actively growing, also it might do away with any fungal issues that could arise from over crowding during the damp days of autumn. Some others would just leave them until next year and let nature sort out the weaker plants over winter. If you did them now you would have to keep them a bit wetter until growth restarted due to the heat if the sun comes out. Others will be able to advise you better,i only dabble with VFT'S for the kids. ada
CephFan
Hi Ada, Well I did one pot (the Australian Red Rosetted), I teased them apart under the microscope as they were pretty tangled. Here is a pic of a couple through the microscope before uprooting: After potting up I had 30 small plants with a variety of colours: Just one more pot to go! Cheers, Steve
