Nepenthes northiana

Recommended Posts

My first little Nepenthes northiana pitcher https://photos.app.goo.gl/2t2YaxVRcMpTBFrd2 . It's forming at the back of its little tufa mountain, it's 6cm tall. Nearly all my pitchers like to form hidden round the back of something, is that weird? This one's from Wistuba.

Does anyone know why I can only upload a handful of photos into my posts? I've already got no allowance left.

Here it is, with a little N. campanulata to its left, also from Wistuba.

Hi Tropicat,

I bought my first Nepentheses last year. I've got lots of years experience growing lots of different plants, but only dared to try Nepenthes recently. I've got about 10 altogether, all healthy. I found out that campanulata and northiana grow on limestone cliffs with water seeping through them, so I just tried to imitate it. the gaps are filled in with leafmould from nearby woods! Hence the spontaneous appearance of ferns.

I really like the setup. I hope the plants will like it in a long term!
