What are you feeding your tadpoles?

I have some adpole food, but basically its flakes of spirulina.  To be honest the tads are so small theyre probably eating microbes at the moment.

So now i have the third batch...

Nice, just make sure your frogs aren't depleting their nutrients too quickly by laying that many eggs.

I feed my tadpoles fish food and frozen bits of vegetables.

Sure, i'm leaving the eggs in the terrarium this time to keep the male busy, hoping that slows them down.

One of the tadpoles from the first batch just popped out the front legs. So this guy is what came out of the eggs on the photographs on page 1.

It's Quercus robur, but the leaf has been in there with the developing tadpole from the beginning of july, so it has turned black by now.

Its common to add leaves with tannin in to help acidify the water slightly, its supposed to reduce fungus infections etc, i used peat in mine.

Way ahead of mine.  Im thinking mine are kept a bit cooler than most folks keep them, but hasnt been a problem, they grow fast, but will be a few weeks before theyre at that stage.
