Karsty
Hi Folks, Anyone ever bought anything from Perfect Plants? They have sales on eBay also under a different name. They are listing a suspicious looking Nepenthes alata 'Rubrum'. I cannot find this anywhere else on the internet. To my uneducated eye it looks like x ventrata. http://perfectplants.co.uk/nepenthes-alata-rubrum-carnivorous-plant-pitcher-plant-fly-catcher-21460.html Can any of you experts offer facts or opinions about this? Thank you (~8 Karsty.
manders
No facts, but anything that looks suspicious probably is.
JMHoff
Very "shady" ad with no background info and a bad quality pic. I have never heard of "rubrum" as a variation or cultivar or type of alata... stay away from it.
picol
If the plant is the one in the picture, it look a normal x ventrata. That in the link was my old x ventrata, and look the same. http://www.cpitalia.net/forum/gallery/album.php?album_id=
Karsty
It seems that the RHS do not acknowledge the name Ventrata. They don't list it, but they do list alata x ventricosa. The name Ventrata has no presence on their entire website.
