Jhj88
Hello! I recently noticed the development of some hard, woody brown patches on the stems of my nepenthes. I've been unable to find images or descriptions that match what I'm seeing... On one stem it starts near the soil and progresses upward but on the other it just randomly starts a few inches up the stem. Does anyone have any insight about this? Thanks so much for your time and help!
Whitefox
Its normal, old stems eventually turn woody but are still healthy and the buds inside remain dormant. I think it is called lignification. Edited July 8, 2017 by Whitefox
