linuxman
Thought I'd start a thread for all my photos in 2017. So to get started here's some newly opened sarracenia flowers from today. Looks like it's going to be a bumper year for flowers.
Zlotka
My first flowers are about to open. Think it will be one more week or so. Those flowers do look really good. Looking forward to the rest of your pictures.

linuxman
Interesting comparison of flowers. This is S. 'Orange Fire' followed by a plant grown from seed of a cross made by Cedric. It's S. 'Orange Fire' x S. flava var. ornata. Neither are particularly distinctive flowers but the addition of flava doesn't seem to add much to the colouring of the original. Maybe just a slight yellowing.
linuxman
I was wrong about the S. 'Orange Fire' x S. flava var. ornata flower not being different. A week later and it's coloured up a bit. I've not got any other flower that shows this effect to this extent. Nice contrast. Someone mentioned getting darlingtonia to flower outdoors - what's the problem (sorry, not a great photo).

Being outside it's a bit behind the greenhouse plants but it should be a good show in a little while.

linuxman
A few photos from today showing the first autumn pitchers on the leucos. These 3 are S. leucophylla seedlings I've been growing for a few years now. I'll need to report them separately in the Spring. Here's the drosophyllum I planted this summer. Still doing well and has caught quite a few bugs but I don't know if it'll be large enough to survive the winter. Only 2 of my other S. leucophylla have produced significant autumn pitchers so far. The first is MK L12A, purple & white, Deer Park, AL. The next is the ever reliable 'Helmut's Delight'. Always pitchers early and strongly even in our damp and dank climate.
