Bluedog0628
Hi, I have found some temperate CPs I'd like to buy but not sure when is the best time to do so. Is it ok to buy them now when they're dormant or should I wait until they resume growth? The seller is based in the UK same as me and plants will be send by post (in case it makes any difference). Thanks for your advice!
picol
Hi, i think that the best period for buying temperate CPs is when they are still dormant. But also i guess there is not an official "best period" for that, infact i did never seen any top seller to stop sell plants when they are in fully vegetation. tatter
I think when dormant especially if bare root less trauma in being unpotted and re potted. Having said that I have bought and successfully repotted most times of year
ada
I Live in south yorkshire too,our growing season starts a bit later than our southern friends, but anytime is a good time to buy plants. When dormant is great because you can see them grow from nothing to their best without any damage to their leaves/pitchers. I only cut mine back yesterday and will start dividing soon,if you want come round and have a look.I will have plenty for sale that are already acclimatised to growing here in S.Yorks. just message me if you're interested. ada
Picavorus
I'm in the High Peak, and have bought plants at all times of the year successfully. All mine are just starting to wake up again, so plenty more repotting to do. Don't worry about the time of year, unless buying Neps and other tropical plants that you can't go to collect yourself.
