After 15+ years it is time for a change..

Recommended Posts

For the people who know who I am and have meet etc. over the years:

I have decided to stop collecting carnivorous plants and I have sold my collection, materials and greenhouses. I already trimmed down my collection over the years, but for several personal reaons I found it better to put an end to it.

Thanks for all the fun!

All the best,

Rogier

Good luck with whatever you choose to do in the future Rogier! Have you started collecting anything else? I find collectors are always collectors and just move onto collecting something different. I'm mainly into collecting palms these days but do still keep quite a few cps.

Regards Neil

Yes, good luck Rogier, I hope you have found an equally fascinating alternative interest.

I think Neil's conclusion probably applies to a lot of us. As for me, I too do still keep a small collection of CP's but in the end I found that specialising purely on CPs just didn't keep my attention focused enough so now I'm growing small collections of cacti, succulents, caudiciforms, aroids, and a few bulbs as well as my remaining CP's. Keeping both the xerophytes and the bog loving plants together in the same greenhouse is certainly a challenge especially during the colder months.

All the best.

All the best, something similar happened to me years ago but I have been bitten by the bug again, and now have a few Cephs and VFTs.

You never know you may return ......

Sad news for the CP community indeed, but I wish you all very best for the future!

This happened to me when I was younger. We had a bad storm that killed all of my outdoor plants, and I got disheartened and stopped growing. Years later, I'm back doing it again. Best of luck to you!

That's a shame to hear Rogier..
I'm the opposite more or less..been away for 5 or 6 years now..and i'm slowely crawling back to the plants haha! (it's just that i cannot find anything besides Sarracenia, Nepethes and Doinaea!..what's up with that?..there used to be a abundance of plants..but it almost seems like the hobby has shrunken down quite a bit!?)
